12/25/07 - Murphy paid a visit rather than Santa this morning, and took out the mail server. Attempting to reconstruct the drives, but it's looking bad at the moment. So, until further notice, mail services for all domains will be down. Mail is being queued. Hope to restore mail services in the next couple of days, but spool contents may not be recoverable. Stay tuned.
03/23/07 - Due to repeated compromises of www, mod_php and mod_perl access has been disabled until cleanup can be completed.
06/10/05 - We experienced another network outage. The facility housing our provider's routers experienced an extended power outage from Friday afternoon until this morning.
05/20/05 - We experienced a network outage lasting until evening of 5/21. Have been experincing periodic outages of WAN link lately. Have not talked to colocation provider to find out what the problems are.
Domain Name Service
We host domain name service for a number of domains, and provide secondary name service for a few others. If you are planning to host your web pages here, you should also probably plan to have your domain name service hosted here as well.
Web Hosting
We host a number of websites, including personal web pages, hobby pages, small business websites, and non-profit organization websites. Web hosting at Zarquon may be arranged through a consortium member. If your site significantly depletes our bandwidth or disk resources, you must be prepared to provide more; we reserve the right to refuse or discontinue your website due to content or bandwidth usage. CGI support for Perl and PHP scripts may also be arranged; we have a number of other website utilities, including counters, discussion forums, and picture galleries available for use by members and associates.
Mail Services
Mail spool space is optionally provided with shell accounts &/or website hosting. We also host Mailman mailing lists and provide SquirrelMail for accessing your Zarquon Internet Consortium mail via the web. Other mail services, including mail forwarding, spam filtering, and virus filtering of your Zarquon Internet Consortium mail may be arranged with the postmaster.
Internet Relay Chat (IRC)
The Zarquon Internet Consortium operates a local IRC server for use by its members and associates.
Database
Relational database hosting and access is provided to our users. We have both MySQL and PostgreSQL available for use by our members and associates. If requested, disk space for flat-file databases may also be made available.
Shell Access
Shell access on our webserver is made available to those members and associates who maintain websites. Shell access to our mail server is optionally available.
